Do It Yourself (DIY)
The WindowLED project is centered around DIY. People retrofitting or creating lamps, and tinkering with changes. People share what they do in forums. Anyone can offer anyone’s products in stores. Ultimately, the community can decide which projects can be displayed on the DIY page.
Here are some early videos of the First Beta WindowLED, to help get this project started. The videos only show retrofitting with the assemblies and the kit, which are very expensive, but you can build your own from raw parts for around $180. Check out the store for assembled parts, or links to the raw parts you can buy online. The lamp and components or parts can be created or purchased in the store or elsewhere online.

Parts Overview
All of the assemblies and parts that you can use to retrofit your lamp.
You can see the details of the parts and buy them or the parts online or in the store.
Parts 1: Disassembly
A quick demonstration of how you disassemble a lamp you have or one you bought. Details would vary with each lamp, but this gives you an idea.
Parts 2: LED Assembly
How to add the mount to your shade and screw in the LED Assembly.
Parts 3: Dimmer Assembly
How to take the dimmer assembly and fit it into your lamp. The dimmer assembly should be improved soon, making it a lot easier to mount. Currently however, you will need a wider shaft for the current knob. The length of the knob is the number one priority to improve.
Parts 4: Final Assembly
Once you retrofit the LED and dimmer assemblies, you can string it all through, connect the power supply, and screw the lamp together.
